A note from our Board President, Elaine LeCain:
At our annual Congregational Meeting in May of this year – after months of investigation, looking at options, and town hall meetings with Q&A – we voted to list our property at 98 Sterling Road. This summer, a firm offer was made by our current buyer, and our congregation voted to proceed with the sale.
The moving task force has been diligently working to inventory our “portable” property, arrange for a moving company and make the move as seamless and stress-less as possible. Originally we anticipated being in our new rented space, First Congregational Chapel, 5 Real Road, in early November. We received word in mid-October of an escrow delay, so we are now slated to move in early 2018.
At our new location, there will be space for the children through the shared nursery with our host church, as well as our own designated classrooms for Religious Education for our children ages 4 through high school. We will be using the Chapel, which is on the West side of the main building, for our worship service, which will remain at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday mornings. We will be enjoying our coffee hour following the service on the patio outside the Chapel. Because of limited sink space, we will be transitioning to disposable coffee cups. Mark Hodson and JoAnn Conard set out all of our kitchen items for adoption beginning in early October. Thank you to all who helped these items find new homes.
Because we anticipated being in the midst of our move on Sunday, October 29, we will not have a worship service. Instead we will gather for a potluck brunch at our current home. Worship services will resume in November through December. Stay tuned for more details on the move as we approach the start of 2018.
We look forward to this exciting next step as a fellowship!
